Simple, annoying, but doable.

The product came in boxed form, you can see it in the photo. My biggest problem with the product is that there are no instructions for it. There isn't even a hint or link where to find installation instructions. In the process I found some guides, both written and on YouTube, showing how to replace stepper motors. However, my truck came with bulbs on the dash, and LEDs are included. LEDs are a direct replacement but will only work if installed with correct polarity. I haven't found anywhere on the internet how to tell which solder point is positive and which is negative in relation to lamp or LED installation. For those who come after me, I will say that the plus leg of the LED is longer than two. Once you cut them to the same length you can tell which is the positive branch as the negative branch looks like an arrow in the LED itself, pointing to the positive branch. The way I found all my positive connections was that I very carefully connected the sensor cluster PCB to my truck's dash and turned on the light and I took one of the LEDs and went to each set of bulbs to connect the Check polarity and markings. which was positive. Also the color you choose will probably not be enough as I believe there are 10 or 11 LEDs of each colour: red, blue, green, clear and I believe you need one more than what is in each colour comes. That's why I used transparent ones for the indicators. Everything else has been changed to blue. By the way, you need to turn on the turn signals and gently hold the tester to find the positive wire. Since it's blinking and not always on, you have to be very careful holding the wires to make sure you're making contact so you can tell which one is positive. Finally, I'm glad my truck required one less stepper motor than was supplied because one of the stepper motors that came with the kit broke. Once everything was up and running the next problem I had was zeroing all the needles after installing them in the truck. Stepper motors have a counter-clockwise rotating stop and if you zero the pointers at that stop as most videos describe, the problem arises when the truck rotates on the board, the zero in the truck will likely not be the same. So I put everything back together except for the top clear lens, drove my truck, and kept fumbling with the arrows until I had them all where they needed to be to shoot them all. All in all it took about two and a half hours.

Pros
  • a beautiful thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
