I bought this lamp because I like its classic and stylish look. I'm a fan of brass. The adjustable arm was also a big plus. There's a huge plant growing near my headboard that isn't getting enough light, so I needed a lamp that I could position to help my fern but not draw my attention when I'm lying in bed. The solid metal shade directs the light to where I need it. I also chose this light because I use it as a plug-in and the switch is on the base of the light and not somewhere on the cord. This makes it easy to turn it on and off as a flashlight at night. Overall I am very happy with this purchase!
