I bought this based on the description that the epilator is wet/dry but the instructions are clear not to wet it. Noting that it's not technically necessary, I wanted/ordered and didn't have time to send it back and get a new one. I've never used anything like this, but I've waxed my feet from time to time over the past few years, so the discomfort was bearable. At first it seemed like it was stinging my skin, but I saw no real marks and attributed it to the pain of tearing out every single hair. I recommend this product to everyone, especially those who are buying it for the first time. It was easy to use, easy to clean, and very portable. I am deducting a star because this is not a wet/dry epilator.
