have been using Artic for so long simply because it was my "famous" thermal compound. I got this for fun, to restore some old machines I have lying around and for my new build. So far I've only used this on my socket 939 ja 939 fxa990-gd65 running on a court fx-8350. The processor idled at 57-60 with Artic 4. I'm sitting idle at 47C. Note that this is an old, power-hungry hot chip that lacks thermal efficiency compared to today's processors. so it's a win. I look forward to upgrading all my other processors with this one. the price was right, the shipping came to my house which is unusual and valuable, the packaging was good enough to protect the syringe (plastic don't worry lol) you have to be careful and read the instructions no matter how many processors you have used in your life . It's a non-spreading paste that uses a cumbersome and non-US metric system, meaning I had to look up how many 4mm is in inches. a circle less than a quarter inch in the center of the old chip is sufficient. larger chips obviously require more, so read on, especially if you're transitioning from using arctic silver. Great job Noctua, I even think about your ugly, very ugly case fans because this product is so good.
