Good computer with serious ergonomic defects

I'm not very good at touch typing, so I have to see the letters on the keyboard. When I'm in a well-lit room, I can't see the letters at all unless I'm looking directly at the keyboard (not the display!) and it does NOT have a backlit keyboard. got 2 stars for it. Luckily, if the screen is bright enough and the room isn't, then the angle I'm looking at the keyboard from allows me to easily see the shadows of the lightly engraved characters as the light bounces off the display. Also, for some, for totally inexplicable reasons, there is no indicator on the keyboard showing the status of Num Lock, although there is one for Caps Lock. Was the designer asleep when they decided to do this? If they can tell me how to work around these issues I might upgrade it to 4 stars. The battery manager is very imprecise. He said I had 5.5 hours left. An hour later he said I had 2.5 hours left. After 5 minutes he said 5 hours. Otherwise, the image quality is excellent and the computer behaves as expected. While I should add that I don't use it for gaming, I can't speak to its graphical qualities in that regard.
