Worth a try, but results may vary...

I'm someone willing to experiment with tools and techniques designed to ease the pain and discomfort of exercise. I have found that some methods work very well...for me (e.g. thread strips and tempering). The SHOCK DOCTOR PATELLA STRAP delivers what it promises: compression of the patella. While I haven't seen any noticeable result, this may be the solution to someone's problem. WHAT IT IS A simple construction of a neoprene strap with a Velcro closure and an internal rubber pad (pencil thickness) designed to accommodate softening of the patellar patellar tendon. You simply wrap the strap around your knee so that the pad rests on the bone at the beginning of your calf. They are sold individually, not as a pair. HOW IT WORKS The biggest issue with this harness is its ability to adjust and stay in place during activity. The neoprene material provides subtle elasticity and is suitable for both small and large feet. I found the strap comfortable, but I don't like the simple velcro attachment method which can make it break easier than the loop/strap design. The patella pad adapts perfectly to the patella tendon and feels good. I have these "knots" under my knees, so I think I had Osgood Schlatter's "disease" as a kid. As long as the knots under your knees don't hurt, kneeling on hard ground is uncomfortable. I don't need a gasket, but someone might find it useful. In terms of compression, the strap gives me a marginal advantage, but I would have preferred a loop/waist strap to control and generate more compression. But in terms of comfort, this strap provides an adequate seal without cutting into your feet. I think the cost of the strap is worth trying; Sometimes something simple and cheap is the answer to years of pain or discomfort.
