Review on πŸ” R W Beckett Corp 4504 KING Oil Tank Gauge: Accurate and Reliable Monitoring for Your Oil Tank by Tarus Clinton

Revainrating 1 out of 5

wanted to please, FAILED in less than 2 years.

Over the last few years I've had times when I've run out of oil. my very old tank outside. After further investigation by myself and a local HVAC contractor, we determined that my line was not deep enough in the tank. So we moved the line and that problem was solved. I came here looking for an easy way to check the fuel level as you can't see it with the naked eye. This simple sensor fits perfectly, I bought it in December 2014 and it hasn't run out of oil since. As a rule of thumb, if I get just under 1/4 tank, I place a delivery order. Works great for my 275 gallon tank. Update 02/22/2016 *** still functional after 16 months. notices that the plastic vial and O-rings are beginning to wear out. but they sell replacements on Amazon. I'll check them out in spring or summer and see if they need to be replaced or if I can wait a little longer. the small red indicator in the vial has faded from red to almost transparent. However, you can still see the corresponding oil level by looking at it. This sensor was a real lifesaver. I've never run out of oil since installing it. it has already paid off. Update 02/01/17 *** Already in October 2016 I noticed that the display shows EMPTY, even though my fuel oil supplier filled my tank with oil. Looking at other reviews it seems that the oil somehow gets into the float causing it to sink and give false readings. it has failed less than 2 years from the original date of purchase. There is no need to file a claim with the company as this sensor is out of warranty and I don't want to buy another one as the next one will be just like this one. Dipstick, and we're going to measure the old-fashioned way. VERY disappointed in this product.
