Review on TOOLS Signature Gold Curling Iron by Maria Campbell

I bought this curling iron instead of standing for years (another brand) which eventually broke. First and foremost, it didn't effectively curl my hair at all. And my hair is not long (just below my shoulders). Even at the highest temperature (which I've never curled my hair with) my hair stayed pretty straight apart from a little twist at the ends. Second, it's really poorly designed because the clip you press to hold or release the hair is only plastic/rubber at the very end (look at the picture and you'll see what I mean). The part of the handle (that doesn't come in direct contact with the barrel and doesn't need to be heated) is metal and gets as hot as the barrel itself. If it turns out to be pointing at your head when you're twisting your hair into curlers the pen will burn your neck or ears even if it barely touches them. The curlers also stuck horribly to my hair. I should have known better than to get something non-ceramic. Terrible waste of money. I'm trying to see it right now, I can return it, although I've opened the package and tried to use it once because it's just awful.
