Works with Ubuntu 20.04 with problems

This worked mostly with an Ubuntu 20.04 laptop but had some issues. There was a lot of really bad screen tearing when scrolling in dual monitor mode. The refresh rate could not be supported very well. To make matters worse, opening a chat window in Zoom had a 50/50 chance of the system going into the weird blocking mode. The mouse could move, but the video froze. Windows couldn't move, couldn't close anything, couldn't go to the terminal window to type anything. However, Zoom audio and video continued to work. until the system completely crashes and restarts a few minutes later. Instead, I switched to a new DisplayLink (WavLink) device and no longer had these issues. I liked how compact it was and I wanted to like it. Strange issues meant it was interfering with my work. It also got pretty darn hot (it was on my outdoor table, maybe they didn't design the thermals well enough and thermally throttled the chips).

Pros
  • USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter: Keep your wired Ethernet stable, make your work more efficient; Speed up to 1000MB. Plug and play, no need to install drivers or software. The 3.5mm audio jack with microphone and audio output function provides 100W power for your laptops with USB port. Another USB-C data port with speeds up to 5Gbps. You can connect more USB-C devices to transfer data.
Cons
  • Hard to say
