Not the best set for beginners

Like many other people during quarantine, I got into polymer clay and wanted to make cute earrings. Since I was a total beginner and didn't have any tools or clay, I wanted to buy a kit that had everything I needed to make earrings. I chose this set because it contained several tools and accessories such as earring holders, brushes and a roller. However, the tools are not the best. Clay: Clay is not very soft. Many YouTubers suggest putting the clay in warm water for 15 minutes, but I let it sit for 45 minutes and the clay was a bit soft but still difficult to roll out. You get about 20 shades of white tone (which is good) and then some darker colors. You can mix them with white clay to make them lighter, but I didn't want to try that as it was difficult for me to work with just one clay alone. Acrylic Roller: This roller is TERRIBLE. The audio would get stuck every time I tried to condition it. You'll notice in the photos how the clay kept getting stuck in part of the roller and tearing the clay, preventing me from creating a smooth layer. I cleaned the roller twice in 10 minutes but it still stayed in the same place so I threw away the broken clay. I've noticed that there are different types of acrylic rollers that actually work, so I need to find them. the rest of the clay. The YouTubers I've seen use cookie cutters and small metal knives, which seems to be the best option when creating characters. Those knives were useless. I can't comment on the rest of the accessories/tools as I finally gave up after trying to prep 2 clays. My hands hurt a lot and I'm so disappointed it didn't work out the way I thought it would. I think the best option is to buy the tools separately and maybe even a pasta maker. And be sure to buy softer clay. Not sure if this is just user error as I'm new to using polymer clay and probably did something wrong when trying to prepare the clay, but the tools in this kit only made things worse did. I would love to return this kit but I doubt I can as I have already used quite a few things :(
