I was so nervous to buy this because there weren't any reviews for it. However, I'm so glad I made it. Two things bribed me: the drawers open to the sides and not a "ladder" like some. Also, the bottom compartment is large enough that most of my serums/lotions/foundations fit in the bottom compartment in an upright position. Can't comment on durability as I only use it in my dresser but I think you can take it in the car and it will hold up well. I probably wouldn't pack it in my suitcase just because I don't know how many hits it can take. There was a strong plastic smell when I opened it, but that went away within a day.
