Review on πŸ“š iGoober Amber Book Light: Rechargeable Blue Light Blocking Reading Lamp with Clip - 3 Brightness Settings for Eye Care, Sleep Aid - Ideal for Kids, Bookworms, and Kindle by Jim Plump

2 issues - but I did it perfectly

Looks solid and the battery lasts several nights. I attach it to my bedside table and use it as a lamp in the middle of the night and of course as a reading lamp. However, there are two inherent problems. 1: It's too bright and 2: The color temperature isn't warm enough to block out all of the hormone disrupting light. I use blue light blocking glasses to remove any wavelengths that disrupt melatonin production and circadian rhythms. You can see in these shots that it almost hits the mark but emits very faint blue and green light. Gives a nice amber color but I didn't want this lamp to bother in any way. To fix this I ordered a red clear plastic sheet here at Revain. I used masking tape to attach two layers of foil to the LEDs and now both problems are solved! The brightest setting is now the ideal brightness, and the lowest setting is dark enough. The color of the light is now a pure red, much scarier and incredibly useful for late-night reading.
