This shirt fits well and as expected only because I got it two sizes too big for my granddaughter (I bought a size 8 instead of a 6). I can say this is one of those shirts that fits really tight and neither I nor my 5 year old granddaughter like. Size 8 fits perfectly. The material is so smooth and comfortable, and the details (nice buttons, lace, and ruffles) add to the style and appeal. The only warning is that the buttons are not sewn very well. My granddaughter wore a shirt to school for the first time and after 1/2 hour the bottom button fell off; Luckily she saw it, put it in a plastic bag and brought it home. I sewed this button on and reinforced the other button so it will never fall off again! While the shirt itself is very well made, the buttons appear to be sewn on with very little thread - once through each buttonhole with a needle and thread, and that appears to be it. No wonder the button fell off. If you order a size or two up and don't forget to reinforce the buttons, I highly recommend this shirt. It's really pretty and washes well. But there is no dryer - just washed and laid to dry. UPDATE: My granddaughter has been wearing it for two years now and it looks just as beautiful as the day I bought it. Just remember, NO DRYER - I think if I put it in the dryer every time I put it in the dryer it would shrink badly and she wouldn't be able to wear it for years. We both love this shirt! UPDATE: They finally got this size 12 shirt and I went for it! However I am now disappointed that the rhinestone buttons on the picture and on the old shirt we have are no longer rhinestones but plain white buttons. This is very bad. I will change the buttons before I give away the old shirt that is too small.
