The volume control works well, it takes a while to insert the wire into the contacts. DO NOT overtighten the small set screw, be careful it works perfectly. I ended up applying a small bead of silicone sealant around the gasket before closing the bezel and then a small bead along the outside edge to keep water/snow/hot tub water out of the box. Yes, as another reviewer noted, the wiring is tricky. Inside there is little space for the input and output of the left and right speakers. I wired it up at the workbench and connected all the wires for the speakers. Like a wiring harness. Then I installed it outside and routed the cables to the speakers and amplifier.
