Review on Powerful and Efficient: CRAFTSMAN CMCD710C1 Brushless Cordless Driver Unleashed by Mark Hamblin

I am very happy with this cordless drill. I am very happy with my B07FDPCFSM SKIL 20V 1/2" cordless drill model DL527502. This drill struggles a bit with my hole saw and larger wood bits (I do data wiring at home). When I saw this more powerful drill I wanted to try it and thought it would be better for heavier jobs.I usually need a good drill for the occasional home repair or small project.It's not like I work in construction or anything so my needs aren't that demanding most of the time .Now I do data wiring and use big bits over 2 bytes and a hole saw in my old fashioned lathe and plaster which takes my requirements up a notch.This drill bit seems better suited to the job but at the expense of a heavier tool and a Shorter battery life. A fair compromise, I think. The 2-speed gearbox is a positive. This allows me to control the fine work lling, and the fine tuning of the descent rate does the job very well. Better than I expected for doing delicate jobs like loosening small screws with the head removed. In many ways this drill is almost a clone of my old Skil model. The controls, including the torque adjuster and two-speed gearbox, are nearly identical. The biggest differences are in the battery (1.5 Ah vs. 2.0 Ah for the Skil), the top speed of 1900 rpm (vs. 1400 rpm for the Skil) and of course a little more torque. The battery was about half charged and fully charged with the included charger. in less than an hour. Fast enough for me. I am very pleased with how the drill handles my more complex newer work better than my old Skil model. On the other hand, the battery life is shorter (usually not a problem for me) and the drill is a little heavier and a little less balanced I think. As a casual power tool worker, it's important to me that they're intuitive to use. It does and I love the resemblance to how my old Skil drill works. As I'm older I like that the manuals can be downloaded as PDF documents and I can enlarge and browse them on my screen. This drill has lived up to my expectations and gives me what I was looking for in a cordless drill for use around the house. That's why I give 5 stars.
