I like celestial themes and sterling silver, so this ring was a natural choice for me! I chose a size 6 and it's true to size; but since it's a wider band than I usually wear, I almost should have sized up for the finger I like to wear it on.This ring seems very well made. The spinning band of mine moves smoothly and doesn't get stuck, and it's clearly stamped 925 inside the band. The spinning band is seamless in its form, and the detail is crisp.I am pretty certain that this is NOT white gold plated. Mine is definitely oxidizing on the background around the details, but I don't have a problem with that in itself- just the description.I took a new, white jewelry cloth and rubbed the ring, the cloth turned gray where I rubbed it- exactly how any tarnished sterling will, and the silver was brighter where I polished it.It doesn't have any kind of karat plating mark, it's only marked S925.It doesn't have the high-shine of white gold plated rings, and comparing this ring to both white gold plated and unplated sterling silver it looks exactly like the latter. The inside of the band has the slightly cloudy and lustrous sheen typical to sterling, while white gold plated is slightly darker, brilliant, and mirror-finish clear.With rings that have raised detail such as this one, the oxidization makes the details of the ring stand out and can be desireable- the shiny sun, moon, and stars contrast with the darker base and draw attention to the raised detail. In fact, some silver rings with intricate details are intentionally tarnished, then the raised areas are polished for that specific "aged" effect. The more the ring is worn, the more that the raised areas will be gently polished from friction, and the clearer the details will look against the oxidized background.Depsite this probably being an unplated silver ring, I still think that it's reasonably priced at the current of $25.99 for a solid silver ring of this thickness and weight.
