First, I ordered the grey regular socks but when they arrived they were the non skid soles. The non skid part doesn't go all the way to the heel so they felt odd when I tried a pair on. Second, I wear a men's 12.5 extra wide shoe and ordered the 13-15 sock to allow for shrinkage when washed. I had a hard time getting these on, very tight around the foot in spite of the extra sizing and I had to take them off after a few hours because it was causing a pinch point on my left ankle. Third, while the socks did come up high enough on my legs to stay put, they just weren't all that warm. I have plain 100% cotton socks that are 20 years old that are warmer than these, they are very thin, even below the cuffs. I don't know why it's so hard just to find a comfortable pair of socks these days, the fit seems to alternate between compression torture and having to settle for ankle socks that do nothing for you in cold weather.
