This thing is getting HOT / Artifacting

In my city it's currently 79 F and I honestly can't physically lift it for more than 6-7 seconds. Not sure if extreme heat will affect performance. , but I sometimes get flickering and strange artifacts in 4k output. I've tried playing around with my GPU's clock speed and even different EDID modes and the only thing that seems to work is setting both outputs to 1080p, but that's not why I bought this. less heat generation and hopefully determine the cause of the artifacts.
