My first pair of Converse lasted 8 years before I needed a replacement. The replacements I ordered, the exact same pair I had previously, lasted less than two weeks before I had to start repairing them myself. Initially, the white rubber on the outside quickly detached from the shoe, allowing water to get in if I stepped on the smallest puddle on the outside. A $1 bottle of Walmart superglue seemed to fix that problem, and the rubber exterior stuck better than any junk glue originally used. I thought it was a one off accident, but before I knew it I had to systematically re-tape all the white rubber around each shoe! I would have returned the shoes immediately if I hadn't stupidly thrown them away. my old Converse, but it was too late and I decided to make the best of this situation. I was wrong again. Even though I fully attached the white rubber to each shoe, water still got in no matter what I did. After a lot of wet socks I decided to give up Converse. If I wanted to get my feet wet, I would buy sandals. Converse used to be solid shoes but since the repurchase the quality has noticeably gone down to save pennies and deliver an inferior product. I don't know how a multi-million dollar company could ruin something as simple as shoes, but they did it. Save your money and get another brand competent enough to handle small puddles of water.
