Image quality and stabilization are clear even at night. A plus is that you can take a picture with the remote control button. Once connected (only when the camera is powered on), you can easily view videos/images on the DVR. I installed it under my seat so it's a nice feature to just watch videos after a ride. It is important to note that once the SD card is full, you will need to remove the SD card and insert it into your computer to save any files you may need for future viewing. Installation was a bit tricky just because the wiring guide had to be changed. If you watch videos on youtube you will find one that recommends twisting the positive (red wire) and switched (yellow) wires together and connecting them to the switched circuit. This is an important step as it was required for the camera to function properly. Email and SMS customer support responded to my request in a timely manner to confirm this addition to the installation. After the fix, the camera worked as described. All in all a great dash cam for the money and my main goal was to record my rides discreetly and automatically in the event of an accident so my word is not against the other, and also capture the moment when the bear and his baby are able to run across the street, or adrenaline causing near misses by suicidal deer and the accidental destruction of a tractor trailer's retreaded tire, which is equal parts suicidal and deadly!
