I've never been particularly good at putting on screen protectors. I do this, but it's tedious and the results weren't always 100% correct. Tight but not a cigar like in the old gag. And this one - wow. It's pristine, evenly aligned, no bubbles or anything. The screen is just as responsive as before and seems a little less picky about fingerprints. Installation was very easy thanks to the included instructions. I had only one false start: the guide aligns with the short side of the tread - you set it in "portrait" mode. I have a slight offset on the wide edge which left a large area that just didn't stick. I carefully lifted the protector, lined up the wide side correctly, glued it back on and it worked. If I were to do it again, I would try to align the wide side of the tread first, i.e. install in "landscape" mode. I don't know if this will work as you have less room to peel off the protective film and the small tab may be in the wrong place, but it can be dealt with. But for me, the key was getting the wide side lined up correctly, and I managed to do it "by hand" as it turned out. Recommended, no problem. But I think rotating 90 degrees if possible and setting it to "landscape" mode will increase your chances of getting things oriented correctly.
