Works very well. Our existing float for our 275 gallon sedan oil tank failed and is very difficult to remove. Luckily we had two covered holes of different sizes. I chose a 2" hole away from the oil fill inlet, used thread sealant and tightened it with an 18" adjustable sanitary wrench. I don't see how other keys would work because they are very tight. The plastic bladder (as shown in my picture) is easy to unscrew by hand so you can properly tighten the new float. Unless you unscrew the plastic bladder and lift the rods, you won't be able to tighten them without hitting and damaging the new assembly on the sides of the tank. If the tank is completely empty, you may not need to unscrew the bladder as the bars should be almost completely vertical.
