So I have this 7 inch DVR model and also a 10 inch model. Both have dual white and IR illumination. The cameras are very easy to use as the primary viewer. I encountered some video issues on first launch. However, it's the best value for a camera with light, and the ability to switch from white to IR when the fish get scary is by far the best value. Yes, there are better cameras with better focus/resolution. But nothing comes close to this price and these features. If you fish a lot on the ice I highly recommend pairing it with one of the Aqua View camera mounts. One thing I recommend is getting a second battery pack if you're going to be fishing all day. Range of 6-8 hours of use and in the last hour right b4 it dies there is a noticeable drop in image quality. I solved the problem by adding a jumper from my lithium shuttle to the box to turn it on when it's low and charge on the go. The 7 inch model is now 2 years old and the battery capacity has been cut in half. However, I contacted the seller to purchase another separate battery and was offered a battery replacement in exchange for positive feedback. Which I think is fair, since I'm not buying a new camera, but a different battery.
