Wonderfal Sportbike motorcycle cover that fits my R1 like a glove

I have used the sportbike version of this cover on my 2012 Yamaha R1 outdoors for 3 consecutive seasons and it works great every day. - Use a case and fits like a glove. The fit literally couldn't be more perfect for this bike, and it's almost like they're specifically designed to fit this rather than being an all-purpose sportbike boot. It keeps the bike from getting completely wet from dirt and most of the rain, and helps increase the bike's theft security by making the bike less visible to bystanders. The motorcycle case comes with a single strap that goes under the bike and snaps into a buckle on the strap on the other side of the case to hold it to the bike and it does a great job of that. I haven't moved this thing yet or even moved an inch due to high winds and heavy rain. The inside of this boot is made out of a fairly soft material that shouldn't damage the paintwork as long as the bike is relatively clean, as you don't want to dump coating on a dirty bike and scrape dirt off the soft clear coat. It should be noted that you can get light scratches on the plastic windscreen of a sports bike with this case, even if a protective white film is sewn into the area that rests on the windscreen. I found that out pretty quickly and take two microfiber towels and drape them over the windshield so that the cover is not directly on it and is protected from abrasion by the microfiber towels and the cover fits snugly enough. to hold them in place while you put the cover on, starting at the front of the bike and then sliding the towels underneath after the front third of the cover is in place (over the front wheel and ready to ride). windshield). This cover is not fully waterproof and will allow some water through your bike when stored outside, especially as the cover ages. There is also a small vent built into the lid, located in the corner where your left mirror sits, which helps align the lid with the front of the bike and allows any moisture trapped under the lid to escape. If you plan on using it outside as a permanent winter cover to get through the snowy off-season, I recommend putting that cover on and then covering it with a tarp while keeping another tarp under the bike so you keep that much moisture in with him as possible while he winters in a place as cold as New England. What I don't like about this case is that the buckles on the straps are not covered with a soft material. . I'm always very careful when putting this cover on because sometimes they can hit the painted surfaces of the bike and it seems like they might leave small scratches. Perhaps some sort of fabric cover around the latches could prevent this, although it might make the buckles more difficult to use. On the front of the cover is a large white and red "Guardian" icon to help you find where the front of the cover is, but it would be nice if there was some sort of reflective strip on the back of the cover . both for security reasons and to make it easier to find the back if you pick up the suitcase while it is stored folded or crumpled. I often have to search and fumble around to find the "Guardian" symbol when putting this case on myself so I can tell where the front is and it can be a lot easier if the back is also marked. I would definitely recommend this cover to other drivers as I can't think of a better alternative for the money. I give it 5 stars but would happily give it 4.5 if half stars were an option just because of the risk of scratching the windshield and the fasteners also pose a potential scratch hazard.
