This was the easiest change. Remove the old lamp housing, keeping the factory screws and leaving the hinge nuts that the screws go into. There will be three pears, 2 brakes and 1 rear, we remove the pears. Insert a white adapter into one of the brake slots and the other into the reverse slot. Yes, you have an open socket, but you don't need it. Some say the shim is flimsy, but you can replace it with an aftermarket shim (look for it). Remove the screw and bolt that came with the new case and replace them with the factory screws. Don't forget to put the white rubber discs in the clear pouch. Mine landed on the floor and I almost missed it. Works great, but like everything in the car, check it every once in a while.
