Review on PIEPS Powder BT Avalanche Beacon by Brian Samuel

I just used this device in an avalanche rescue course. All day we buried the beacon"victim" and found it with our beacons. This one performed better than all 6 in the class, most accurate arrow direction, highest refresh rate. Each time it led me straight to the "victim". I like it because it does NOT have all these smart features. Some of them will return to broadcast mode if they don't detect any movement for some time. The last thing I need in an emergency is trying to trick my beacon while it's trying to trick me. That's easy. There is a 3 position slide switch. Off, send, search. Simple, reliable. Works well, I hope I never have to use it for real purpose.
