Review on Pyle Bluetooth Receiver Wall Mount: In-Wall Audio Control Receiver with Dual USB Charging Port and 3.5mm AUX Input for Sound Systems in Home Theater Entertainment - PWPBT67 by Susan Park

Revainrating 4 out of 5

needed to be slightly modified

To be honest, I didn't quite understand what I bought. I figured it would be a Bluetooth remote source for the entire home audio system, meaning I could install it in one part of the house and connect it to the base using a Category 5 cable. Turns out that's not the intention. I thought there are 2 devices, one is a receiver and the other is a base, and they will connect together, cat 5 (wrong). Turns out there's only 1 device that shows what's in the front and what's in the back. In any case, they designed this so that it would need to be fairly close to a 110V source to power it. It wouldn't work for my application as I wanted to mount it in a location where it would wouldn't look pretty. I decided to change it. I placed the transformer next to my amp (in the basement) and cut off the low voltage plug. I had coil 5 running between the location of the amp and where I wanted to mount the unit. I used 2 category 5 cables to supply low voltage to the device and used 2 twisted pairs to return the audio signal from the device to the amplifier. I really thought it wouldn't work and if it did I expected a big loss in quality but to my surprise it worked like a charm. I don't know how long this will take, but for now I'm happy.
