I have been using these bulbs for years and have learned never to leave fingerprints on them - this would damage the bulb and they will burn out much faster. Who knows what other reasons these bulbs last from 6 months to a year in our kitchen. Unacceptable. The second thing I learned was to use less power as 75 watts might not work well in a lamp. Angle in degrees or spread of light. Now we are testing these LEDs for efficiency but have no idea if the performance will be above the promised year: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019DGH6EE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title? dh=UTF8&psc=1 This is a LED spotlight, it looks great in the kitchen where there are 8 bulbs and the spotlight effect is amazing. Reviews are dubious - we'll see. Conclusion: - Do you want a spotlight effect or a flood? - Do not touch halogen lamps! - If halogens often burn out, your output (75 watts) may be too bright for a can. Light restrictions (e.g. 50w) - Spotlights are harder to find, Long Neck PAR30 and much easier to find Flood, don't know why.
