💡 Sylvania 16156 Capsylite Reflector Replacement Bulb Review

Bought 6 pieces. They were wrapped in bubble wrap. All but one were broken and unusable. Couldn't go back because I didn't know until I used them. Check them out next time you get them.

I always have spare bulbs so I don't have to go to the store when I need to change a bulb. The price of this multipack is better than any retail store where I buy physically. They are also energy efficient.

I have over 20 of these bulbs at home. Not very impressed with longevity, but brightness is fine for my use. My last order of 6 had a damaged base that would not screw into the socket. I'm glad it was the first one I opened or I may not have found it for months. He was promptly replaced.

These bulbs are dimmable so I chose them over the par 30 GE bulbs. I actually like the GE bulbs better as they give off a warmer light, but they weren't dimmable. This seller packed the bulbs to ensure they arrived safe and sound. Thanks very much! I recommend this supplier and will definitely buy from them again.

The first bulb I tried didn't work, I could hear the inside rattling. The remaining 5 separate boxes were damaged; torn, multiple cuts with a box knife, crushed. All packaging has been treated very roughly. I was wondering how the product was received. Decided I couldn't trust the durability of the remaining bulbs. Bulbs are fine. The problem lies in the packaging. When I first ordered they arrived in a thin plastic bag with a layer of the thinnest bubble wrap ever made. Four bulbs were broken/cracked so I sent them back with the (pathetic) original packaging. I rolled that the packaging (transport robot? computer? warehouse worker?) would be better suited for six GLASS LAMPS. But no. The replacement package was exactly the same. These lamps were purchased and installed in August 2018. Decommissioned February 2019. Ooooh, Sylvania makes a lightbulb that lasts 6 months. Woo dee doo. I believe the first Edison bulbs lasted over 6 months. (Probably not really). But really? What happened to the production of light bulbs? Maybe Sylvania should have stopped making giant CRT TVs, I think they succeeded. But Sylvania definitely can't make a lightbulb. The product is called Capsylite. I was very pleased that these bulbs were available. I live in an apartment with track lighting and those bulbs can be quite expensive. I really don't want to spend a lot of money replacing lightbulbs that I may not use in the future if I eventually move house. I replaced two lightbulbs 6 weeks ago and one of them blew today. I have been using these bulbs for years and have learned never to leave fingerprints on them - this would damage the bulb and they will burn out much faster. Who knows what other reasons these bulbs last from 6 months to a year in our kitchen. Unacceptable. The second thing I learned was to use less power as 75 watts might not work well in a lamp. Angle in degrees or spread of light. Now we are testing these LEDs for efficiency but have no idea if the performance will be above the promised…
