I bought this vest so people can see me cycling. There are three pockets on the vest: one on the left side of the chest and two on the bottom. The upper left side has no flap but closes fairly well with velcro. This is the smallest of the bags and I wouldn't put anything too heavy in it. The other two pockets are very roomy and fit my wallet, phone and keys quite well. I've never worn it at night because I don't drive at night, so I don't know how well it reflects headlights. This serves its purpose well as no one has ever had a problem with me. I bought a large one to wear my backpack underneath. A worthwhile purchase so far.
