I had an OEM version of this Canon product but lost it after taking the picture. I couldn't spend another $125 for one so I bought the Neewer version and am happy with it. I shot two time-lapse sequences with it, one of which was 10 hours long, and it worked flawlessly, recording over 600 frames per minute at one frame per minute. You don't have to worry about the display not turning off; Like all LCDs, it uses almost no power. Think of it like a digital watch! Of course, it also works great as a remote shutter release. I find the display easier to understand than Canon's, but the lack of a dial makes changing settings a little tedious.
