Review on DmHirmg Adjustable Length FaceMasks Lanyard by Josh Cooper

Slight improvement over the old version

I have previously reviewed the original DmHirmg mask strap and found this new version to be a modest improvement. I've been using the old version for a while with no major complaints, but did note in my review that wiping the mask's elastic ear loops with thin metal clips got me thinking about the possibility of damage (not that I'd run into any problems right away - I'm wearing usually put it on the mask once and leave it there). I'm happy to see that this new design has clips that are designed to slide more smoothly, although it's still a tricky process. Since the part that cuts around the mask loops is smoother, I think it makes sense with the new version. Use it not only as a strap to keep the mask ready when you're not actively using it, but also as a device to keep the mask in place without putting pressure on your ears. To get it right, you should use two of these - one behind the bottom of your head and one on top, just like a proper N95 mask wraps around your head in both places. If that's your goal, I'd say Fix the Mask's mask mount is probably the perfect tool, not this one for the purpose. But they're relatively cheap and still needed, since this brace doesn't keep your mask ready when you're not using it. This is only to secure it to the face during use. As an alternative to this mask strap, you can also consider the XMY silicone mask strap extender. I like that it's easier to clean and stretches a bit, which I think is a small benefit if you're using it to relieve pressure in your ears while holding the mask to your face to form a nice seal. (Although DmHirmg has a wider strap that might be a bit more comfortable on your head.) Overall, I think I like XMY's solution a little more than this DmHirmg, but I don't think you can go wrong either way. So five stars for both products.
