5 was comfortable, my big toe was pressed all the way.
I have a wide foot and I usually wear a size 9 and wide or C/D when available. At first I ordered 1/2 size smaller based on the recommendation in the seller's ad. While the 8.5 was comfortable, my big toe got pressed against the end of the boot and my toe could start to hurt with prolonged wear. So I brought the shoes back to my normal size 9 and they fit perfectly! Velcro straps on the heel and front of the shoe allow you to adjust the width as needed. The shoes are as cute as the picture, very comfortable - and I love them!
