I needed replacement string lights for my living room behind the bar. I had an old lightbulb that broke. I decided to try these new LED string lights. They use at least half the energy, hardly get hot and I can easily change color with a good remote control. If necessary, you can shorten the kit (but I don't need it). Seems very well done. They're very bright. You can mute them, but it's barely noticeable. You can set the lights to one color or change multiple colors yourself. No sticky backing when you need to install them. No hardware is included at all. So far I have been very happy with this set. *Edit 7-29-19 So now I'm not so happy. My rope lanterns, which I love so much, can no longer change color. The controller no longer works. My lights shine on blue. They work but cannot dim, create effects or change colors. The company contacted me and sent me a replacement while I am writing my updated review. I cannot thank Brillihood for caring about their customers. This set still works!
