Only a German engineer will find it easy

This is not the simplest kettle. My wife, a non-gadget tech writer, couldn't figure out how to turn it on. I'm an engineer (unfortunately not a German engineer), but months later I'm still fumbling with it: - To turn it on when the display is dark, press BOIL twice. - To turn it on when the display shows the temperature, press BOIL once. If you accidentally press it twice it will turn itself off (oops) - Putting the kettle back on the stand will initialize the display for about a second. Even though the display is on, it doesn't show the temperature yet, so you'll need to press BOIL twice. But if the temperature is showing between the time you see the display initialize and when you press BOIL, remember to only press BOIL once or you'll turn it off. 60 minutes), press and hold the thermometer button until a small icon appears. If you don't leave it on long enough, it turns off the kettle (oops). Since the kettle turns off after removing it from the base, to activate the keep warm function after placing it on the base, first turn the kettle back on by pressing BOIL twice if the display is still initializing, or once if you are see temperature (see above). ). Then press and hold the thermometer. Roger that? - Because the buttons are modal, seeing the ad is very important. However, this is difficult if the kettle is in front of a bright kitchen window, even if the sun does not fall directly on it. It's less convenient for left-handers - it takes an extra effort to turn the kettle so that the all-important display is facing us. I like that the kettle boils water quickly and is easy enough to clean. The lid can be opened almost 90 degrees, but it is difficult to put large hands in the kettle. Let's see how long it lasts. My last three Revain-E kettles have each lasted around 18-24 months, despite good initial reviews.
