LARGE gauge

Bought to try as I have tried several other 'universal' gauges in the past. This is the only cheap sensor that reads speed from an OEM drive cable so I figured it would be easier than mounting the sensor up front like the others. To be honest, given the price, I didn't have high hopes. point boy was I wrong. That's great. Everything worked properly, right out of the box. I connected power, ground, speedometer wire and speedo wire. Everything worked exactly as it should. Touch reads accurately. Initially the speed was set to km/h but after some searching I was able to change it to miles per hour and set the RPM to show speed accurately. This process is a form of manufacturing as the sensor comes with no documentation or even indications that it can be modified, but it can. with the key in the "OFF" position, hold down the button on the back and turn the key to "ON". The sensor displays "P 0 0 0 0". If you short press to change the number and long press to change the position, you want to change this display to "P 6 6 1 0” to enter the change settings menu. 1. Menu: The screen will show 00466, this is the frequency used. for speedometer calibration and corresponds to 46.6 Hz = 60 km/h. I had to change mine to read 00505 (50.5Hz). Depending on your bike and wheel size, you may need to play around with this setup. short press to go to the next menu. 2. Menu: The screen will show 1001. This is the setting for KPH. Use the long/short press method above and set it to 1002 for mph. Turn the key back then turn it back on and the display is now set to mph. As I said, I had to play around with the frequency to get the speed reading right. Originally mph was read about 10% faster (50 mph noted - 45 mph actual). To fix this I increased the frequency to 50.0 which is very close. Fine tuning to 50.5 made it dead. Try this sensor. This is a fantastic set. I will be buying more for other projects!
