Although this could be a handy laundry basket, I needed a solution for large bags of dog food. That was it! The top lid comes off completely, allowing me to place plastic food storage bags on either side to keep the bin extra clean. The top cap snaps into place and holds the plastic bag in place. The other side is used for toys and other small items for the dog. I am very happy with this purchase and glad I really explored other options before buying some of these dog food containers that are overpriced or flimsy. For the record, I dumped nearly 33 pounds of grits on one side, but the bin itself isn't ugly or obtrusive (although I have one in my garage!).
