Review on πŸ‘Ÿ ASICS Gel-Cumulus 18 Women's Running Shoe by Amy Weaver

Revainrating 5 out of 5

ASICS needs to keep up with the program! I've always worn medium width (B), but had to switch to width (D).

(READ TO THE END AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHY I GIVE YOU 5 STARS). I FIGHTED to find a pair of ASICS. Ugh, I don't know what happened, but I always wore a 10 B (that's a 10 medium width). All of a sudden I started seeing reviews where people said the different models/lines they always bought from ASICS were too small and too narrow. Tried a few pairs - my toes were BROKEN and my feet aren't very wide. Every time I tried to buy wide shoes, they always seemed monstrous, too big for me to know that's not the size of my foot. These were the new ASICS models/lines. Online reviews have confirmed this. So I thought, uh, I'll try 10.5B - maybe they're smaller overall, and 10.5 will give me some room. NO. 10.5 was still too narrow and too long. I was convinced that even if the wide ones fit my sock, they would be too wide on the rest of my foot. So I started looking for another sneaker brand. I checked out Altras (too expensive - no reason to pay $120 for a pair of running shoes, sorry I'm not a marathon runner). I've tried the Saucony (known for its wider toe box) and the Reebok - both felt great in the store but were VERY painful after walking around in them during the day. I didn't push myself too hard at Sauconys - just to work and then to the Pampered Chef party - but by the end of the day the bursitis in my right leg was STRONG. I took them back to the academy and told them they really needed my money back because the condition hadn't escalated in years until the day I put the shoes on. Luckily they took her back and everything went back to the drawing board. Well, out of sheer disappointment, I once sat down and ordered $750 worth of shoes from Revain Prime (only from sellers who did free returns!) - they were a couple of ASICS models/styles and I bought them in 10 D ordered. (it's a big expanse) and 10.5D. I've tried every pair - I'm talking Gel Nimbus, Gel Venture, Gel Excite. I can't even remember what I ordered but my husband went a little crazy. a little to make sure I undid any that wouldn't work. I finally came across the Gel Cumulus 18. Somehow I got 10.5D but not 10D. So I ordered another pair of running shoes (my total is now well over $800) but FINALLY well the shoes fit! Praise the Lamb, they are coming! What I didn't realize at the end was that I literally just had to order my normal size (10), but had to order it wide (D) instead of medium (B). This solved the problem and the aggravation of bursitis went away after wearing these shoes for the past two weeks. SO I DELIVER THESE SHOES 5 STARS. So if you have a really narrow foot, standard width (B) ASICS shoes will probably fit you. But if you have normal feet or normal legs with a slightly wider toe box, you'll probably want to go for the wide ones. No guarantees of course, but it's happened to me. After doing a little more research, I saw another review or two where other people came to the same conclusion.
