Review on Eberlestock Mainframe Pack: Optimized Backpacks and Versatile Daypacks by James Collins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I've been waiting for this package my whole life and didn't even know it.

This is the future. 14 years in the military and my first lightweight backpack from this company sweeps away everything the military has ever issued to me. As a grunt and private sector worker, I was raised to do a lot of jerking. This frame allows me to tailor my load to a specific mission. The clips fit almost all of my gear including the micro rig which came as a complete surprise. I can now put all my shit I'm not actively using in my backpack when I'm out and remove what I need when I hit the ORP instead of feeling like I'm carrying the SWAT equivalent when camping . I was able to connect exactly the pouches I needed and the possibilities are endless. The laser cut is very tough for MOLLE and the material is higher quality than any laser cut MOLLE I have used in the past and I have been using a laser cut plate holder for 10 years (I really thought it would break but I never did, I haven't overtightened or ripped a single cut, science.) I'm a believer.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • slightly torn
