Misleading extension options.

Excellent frame, very high quality. I bought the whole set, bat wings, stuff sack and duffel bag with studs. Photos of Eberlestok make me think it's very versatile! Haha! The compression straps aren't long enough to get around bat wings, a spiked gym bag, or a dry bag, let alone an animal quarter. To make matters worse, the longer accessory straps they sell are not compatible with mainframe buckles. Luckily I found some Chinese nylon buckles at Revain that match the buckles on the main frame…

Insanely versatile and well built

I didn't think Eberlestock could beat their flagship J107 bag. but they did. First of all, it goes without saying that the quality of this packaging lives up to the Eberlestock name. It will take my whole life and my children. Second, this pack has many options. As others have said, it works well with a duffel bag. But actually I drive the Transformer and I really like it. The combo is lightweight and offers great freedom of movement, but if I need to lug something big I just detach the…

High quality, leader in camping and backpacking

I have yet to carry a heavy load with this backpack but I'm sure it can handle it. Like all Eberlestock bags, the quality is top-notch. This is the fourth Eberlestock set I've bought. Update: In December 2016 a hunting buddy of mine caught a very large moose with a rifle. After 4.5 hours of field dressing we grabbed him down the hill. It took 3 rides and I was carrying about 70 pounds on each ride (I'm 170). The backpack was durable and didn't slip. Straps allow you to securely fix the load. I…

Good hunting backpack for camping and hiking

Very good backpack for a hard day of hunting. We packed an adult bull in a harsh upland area with lots of downy forests. It was a hunt that pushed us both physically and mentally. This backpack is lightweight, durable and easily adjustable. Holds the load as well as you can tighten it, meaning if it comes loose it's not the packaging's fault. Fatigue and discomfort were extreme during the 12-mile day off-road and the last 3 miles exhausted the bull. When you work that hard, you can appreciate a

Like the frame, I can't get the right bag

I ordered military green. I like the frame. Adjustable in size, comfortable with the load. I was unable to get a set of Transformers in the same color and tried for several months. I've tried bat wings which are good in good weather but don't have the required capacity in cold/wet weather. Looking around, I discovered that Hill People Gear makes a bag they call the Decker Pocket for their frame system. With the exception of the zippers, the Decker Pocket goes well with the mainframe. The Decker

Very versatile frame!

This pack is very well tolerated. I am 62 years old, 6 feet tall, weigh 173 pounds and mostly walk and backpack by myself. This package allows me to tailor my cargo to the type of trip and the time of year. The strap system allows me to secure any type of load in any configuration I need. As an outer frame, it offers a superior loading structure at a low cost for added weight. I use a Rubbermaid 41 liter industrial waste container as my main container and I carry my sleep system in a 30 liter…

I've been waiting for this package my whole life and didn't even know it.

This is the future. 14 years in the military and my first lightweight backpack from this company sweeps away everything the military has ever issued to me. As a grunt and private sector worker, I was raised to do a lot of jerking. This frame allows me to tailor my load to a specific mission. The clips fit almost all of my gear including the micro rig which came as a complete surprise. I can now put all my shit I'm not actively using in my backpack when I'm out and remove what I need when I hit…

good concept. Too small. Better testing is needed.

I like the concept of this package. Expandable with a desiccant bag which can then be replaced with your venison bags. Good idea. However, it needs some serious tweaking to be functional and deserve the asking price. Pros: Comfortable, adjustable padding and straps. High quality, durable materials. A lightweight. Cons: Tiny. I had to return it upon receipt when I realized how small it is even when fully unfolded. But I wanted to love it, so I kept it and regretted not having done it just for…
