Review on Eberlestock Mainframe Pack: Optimized Backpacks and Versatile Daypacks by David Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very versatile frame!

This pack is very well tolerated. I am 62 years old, 6 feet tall, weigh 173 pounds and mostly walk and backpack by myself. This package allows me to tailor my cargo to the type of trip and the time of year. The strap system allows me to secure any type of load in any configuration I need. As an outer frame, it offers a superior loading structure at a low cost for added weight. I use a Rubbermaid 41 liter industrial waste container as my main container and I carry my sleep system in a 30 liter dry bag at the bottom of the load. . In the camp I can take everything off and carry everything I need with me. I can also empty the basket and fetch wood chips and/or water if needed. I bought a 20 liter REI pack lid that is held in place with 1" ties to close the container and protect the contents. Bring something bigger (perhaps a 50 liter pack sack in winter?)

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • So far so good
