So I bought this for my daughter's light blonde hair and purple for mine. I left it in her hair for a full hour before rinsing it out and was horrified to see that her hair ended up turning more green than blue. She wanted mermaid hair and still liked it (she's 6) but it didn't turn blue at all. I have naturally dark hair and a few days before dying mine I bleached the bottom half of my hair orange. I left the color in mine somewhere between 2 and 3 o'clock. THIS IS SUPER COLORING! An interesting way to color a bath is to take some shampoo and smear it on the bath before you wash your hair. This will prevent the paint from sticking. Its green color has almost completely faded in about 5 washes. However, my purple is still very light. So maybe I should have left her alone longer. The paint smelled like cotton candy and made our hair very soft. That's it.
