Quality product, minor quirks for a tactical setup

First note: I intend to use this in a budget tactical setup, from the uv5r to this mic and the Howard Leight Ear Pro headphones. It definitely does the job. It endured being crushed by backpack straps, gun slings, gun butts, and lying on them in the freezing cold for ten hours. More than can be said about me. The sound quality on the input is excellent, the speaker has not been tried due to the use of the audio output to the headset. Electronically my device is perfect as it properly mutes the speaker and there is no problem with the sound going through the microphone to the headset. My complaints relate to the position of the 3.5mm jack, which is tilted. Directly down would have been a much more convenient setup for wiring, especially when other devices are involved. However, I did really well with it. Another thing is how big this thing is with the cable. Sturdy, yes, but bulky and makes it difficult to route cables under some molle webbing. But the ties make it possible. I wish the PTT was harder to press in case my gear hit the button on my body. It took me a while to set up the mic so it wasn't constantly picking up on my body. The clip is too small to fit in the molle slot without bending the strap. It snaps securely into place, but a slightly longer slot in the clip would be ideal. Less flexible nylon may not snap, so keep that in mind when using it with tactical gear. My setup is probably not designed for that. It gets 5 stars because in the end it did what I wanted it to do. The microphone itself did not require modification at all. My friend used a much cheaper Baofeng brand mic in the same way and it worked fine but I have no regrets buying this mic and would still buy it if needed. You don't have to worry about broken internal parts causing problems. It's good when reviews of other mics give a clue.
