I bought it to take some pictures of the roof of my camper van. When you open the box, it initially looks like a black 6-inch cylinder. Grab one end and pull. It will open for sure. The quality and finish is amazing. Pull the top and it adjusts to your camera. I pressed the button and nothing happened. So I opened the battery compartment and pulled out the clear plastic protective tab that keeps the battery from wearing out during shipping. I turned on bluetooth for my phone (iPhone 6s+), pressed the button and saw a new source, paired, took a picture. how easy is it Seriously, if you're confused reading the instructions, you probably won't be able to use your phone anyway.
