Does what it's supposed to do, but doesn't convince.

I use this with the Solvit HoundAbout pet bike trailer. It's functional and does what it's supposed to do, but overall I'm not convinced. Handlebars: Slightly irritating to the eye where the clamps on the trailer need to be tightened. It also seems that the clamps can become loose over time or easily overtightened which could damage the trailer (this has not happened before). It's a bit fiddly to make sure it's evenly clamped on both sides. Would have preferred something to flatten (grooves maybe?) or snap into place. The trailer frame isn't as open, which could make a big difference in height adjustment. Wheel and Frame Arm: Connects easily and fairly quickly to the trailer frame, separate from the bike arm assembly. This setup is LONG, longer than originally intended, and using the trailer in enclosed spaces (trains, elevators) is extremely difficult, if not impossible. It can hold my dog's weight (45 pounds), but the length and curvature of the frame allows the front of the trailer to bounce up and down a bit when my dog moves. This makes my dog uncomfortable like he doesn't have a sure footing. It's nice to have an air tire instead of a foam/solid one and the maneuverability of the wheels is good. The design could be improved, shortened, maybe even right in front or under the trailer if the wheel was smaller. Brake: Works well enough, but not thrilled with the design. The articulated design doesn't move smoothly; It seems to stick too much when opened or closed. It also doesn't seem to make much contact with the wheel. The braking is enough to keep it in place and helps when the dog gets in or out of the trailer, but I wouldn't trust it alone to keep the dog in the trailer if it's a decent one Hang acts. An improvement would be a wired handbrake or similar option that would help with braking downhill, especially when braking for both wheels. Maybe I'll swap out the bike brakes for that. Coaster: Does what it's supposed to. Holds no more than a small water/soda bottle which may be the size of a drink.
