First of all I LOVE the look of this business card holder. Out of the box it was almost perfect except for the tiny area where the "wood" meets the metal was raised, but I'm glad that happened because it showed that the material the " Wood" consists, in fact a shell is processed. Paper-thin cardboard finish. Because of this, I expect this item not to last as long as if it were made from a more durable material. Since it's paper, I'm concerned that if it rolls around in my purse and rubs against objects, the protective coating will wear off, making it more susceptible to smudging. I'll probably just put this layer on top of the paper to make it more durable. If you want a spray sealer to do the same, be sure to get a water based sealer and I probably wouldn't use anything glossier than semi gloss as I think the gloss makes it more obvious that it's made out of paper. . And a light spray is really all it takes. Oh! The clasps fit, are strong and appear to be of good quality so no worries. :) In general, this is a good deal for a low price.
