If you are looking for a simple, reliable, bright and easy to install LED generator to light up the city and beyond, this lantern is a great choice. The instructions are a bit helpful, but once you know which end of the screwdriver to hold, installation is easy enough. BENEFITS - The jet pattern is good enough to avoid potholes at slow to moderate speeds. — The lateral visibility of the lens is excellent! A definite plus when you have to deal with an intersection. Unlike glow generators, which produce lumens proportional to your speed, this light gets brighter quickly, has a constant intensity (you can actually push your bike at walking speed, and has enough light to see where you put your feet). Plastic frame (not great) but thankfully it's held in place with a small Phillips head screw so it's difficult to tighten. there is a capacitor to store a small charge so the light stays on when you stop at an intersection (one of the concessions for the low price) - the included bracket doesn't work on the smaller rear frame tubes (my city bike has a front Rack that interfered with the recommended fork mount, so I relocated the alternator to the rear wheel and wired the lamp remotely to the A-pillar). the light exceeds its small price l.
