Light, compact, functional. does what it's supposed to do as long as you know what to do with it. I've carried one of these Sam splints with me in my first-aid kit for many years. It won't magically heal you if you break your arm in the wild and don't get first aid training, but it can be used to splint a variety of injuries with a little imagination and a basic understanding of splinting . Otherwise, it's a good cushion to sit on until the ambulance arrives.
