Sometimes a sweet old dog just can't get outside fast enough to avoid an accident. They have potty problems when they are puppies and then they find out they need to go outside. They breathe a sigh of relief when they're potty trained and at least those worries go away. But many years later, the potty problems seem to resurface along with the stains on the carpets. We are in the second stage of a dog's life. Most of the time, Bart makes it outside in time to potty, but there are a few mistakes that require extra attention when cleaning up. I came across the Simply Floors Enzyme Carpet Cleaner while looking for a better spot cleaner than my old one. I thought that adding enzymes to the solution might increase the cleaning power of the cleaner. I have had the opportunity to treat dog stains a number of times in the recent past and have been pleased with the effect of Simply Floors on the stains. I treated the stains twice each time because I didn't want to risk stains. maybe not far away. I always blot the stain vigorously with a towel first, then spray the cleaner on until the stain is fairly damp again. The instructions say to leave the solution on for three to five minutes. So I have five minutes. Then I blot the stain again with a wad of towels left over for the purpose until it's as dry as possible. And, as they say, rinse and repeat. In fact, you don't need to wash it. Simply dampen the stain with the cleaner again and wait another five minutes before wiping with a towel. Then sit back and wait for the area to dry completely. I run the vacuum over the area the next day as instructed. So far my method has worked and the cleaner has worked very well. I also like the faint cherry flavor that lingers. I recommend this carpet spotter. Give it a try, especially if you have older animals.
