Review on Dorman 615 175 Manifold Lincoln Mercury by Michael Murphy

I was a bit concerned about the suitability of this item as it is clearly designed for multiple applications. I installed it 24 hours ago and everything looks fine. I followed the instructions that came in the box (make sure you use the torque wrench as directed) and had no problems. My application was a Mercury Grand Marquis 03 with a 4.6 engine. I didn't need an extra alternator bracket (I could use the original), I used a thermostat gasket and I had more than enough fasteners. A highly recommended part. You can install with confidence by following the installation tips that come with the product. This took me and a friend about 2.5 hours (both in mechanics). No special tools are required. 8-15mm wrenches/bits and torque wrenches in ft-lbs (or in-lbs). The throttle body can be removed from the intake port and set aside with the fuel lines attached. The EGR can be left connected to the exhaust if it is in good condition. The fuel rails can be moved far enough to the left and right without dismantling the fuel lines. Happy spinning!
